Honors Were Received for both Traditional and Digital Media Campaigns

September 12, 2018; CHESTERBROOK, PA – DMW was recognized with five 2018 Communicator Awards in this year’s competition. The agency also took home an additional trophy from the 2018 Healthcare Advertising Awards. The awards showcase DMW’s work across both traditional and digital media.

The winning campaigns for The Communicator Awards were:

  • The Facebook campaign for Delta Dental was recognized with an Award of Excellence. Lists of those who need dental insurance simply don’t exist, so the agency had to “drill deeper” to target prospects and attract response. After developing, testing, and refinement, DMW took Delta Dental beyond direct mail, first with DRTV and then digital, growing across various channels including search, display, and Facebook.

  • The “Fun With Words” self-mailer with magnet in the print media direct mail category for Meemic, an educator-only insurance firm.

  • The website for Johns Hopkins Advantage MD won Gold. Designed to educate and inform while generating leads, the site features “The Medicare Story,” a 90-second interactive video overview. Compared to the previous year, 46% more site visitors, 72% more conversions, and engaged visitors spending 51% more time on site contributed to an overall 25% increase in sales over 2016.

  • In the direct mail category, an award was received for Premera Blue Cross, for the “Better Plan” campaign. Promoting plans on the Health Exchange for individuals Under 65, this mailer debuted a new look for the corporate brand, performed in the marketplace, and also won a Communicator Award of Distinction.

  • Marketing to the Over 65 audience, the “Medicare Direct Mail Campaign” for Premera was also a winner in the direct mail category. The campaign not only spanned multiple markets in Washington from Seattle to Spokane, it was also honored across award shows — winning recognition in both in the Communicator Awards and The Healthcare Ad Awards.

“I like The Communicator Awards’ defining statement: the competition ‘honors work that transcends innovation and craft – work that made a lasting impact…,’” said Bill Spink, EVP and Chief Creative Officer of DMW. “That defines the scope of our efforts: to meld innovation, craft, and impact. To be selected out of thousands of entries is a concrete indicator that our work stands out in a crowded marketplace to get our clients’ messages heard – and gets consumers to Act Now!”
