DMW Worldwide’s Direct Response Television Commercials Honored With Coveted Telly Awards
WAYNE, Pa. — April 9, 2009 — Warren Hunter, Chairman and CEO of DMW Worldwide LLC, announced that the agency’s direct response television work was recently recognized by the 29th Annual Telly Awards. Two of DMW’s television commercials were honored among the more than 14,000 entries received from all 50 states and five continents.
The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions and work created for the Web.
“Nursery Dads” was named a Telly winner for DMW. Filmed in a hospital facility in Philadelphia, this spot promotes the “Grow-Up” life insurance plan, which is a whole life product. The plan is marketed to parents and grandparents of infants and young children to help guarantee them a financially secure future. The spot features two new fathers looking at their babies in the nursery ward. The worried father of the pair is nervous about all his new responsibilities. The confident dad assures him that all he needs to do is get the Grow Up plan. The second half of the pitch is credibly delivered by an on-camera nurse who explains the benefits and features of this coverage. Response vehicles include both a toll-free phone number and URL with TV-specific landing page.
“Everywhere You Turn,” created for a Philadelphia-area insurer, also took home a Telly for the agency. Running during Medicare’s fall Open Enrollment Period, this spot uses footage of recognizable landmarks throughout Greater Philadelphia, including various types of signage — each bearing urgent, Medicare-related messaging. The commercial, one in a campaign series, focuses on how the plan is “here for you … every step of the way,” helping regional seniors get the most out of their Medicare benefits. The call-to-action is a request to sign up for a free informational meeting that helps seniors prepare to make important decisions related to Medicare.
DMW is proud to include the Telly Awards among its other prestigious industry honors including the Aurora Award; Ava Award; Communicator Award; the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) ECHO Award; Healthcare Advertising Award; Hermes Award; Mature Media Award; National Health Information Award; Philadelphia Ad Club “Addy” Award; Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association Benjamin Franklin Award for Direct Marketing Excellence; the Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) Marketing Methods Award and Best of PIMA Award; and the Videographer Award.
The Telly Awards
The Telly Awards was founded in 1978 by David E. Carter, a past Emmy® and Clio® winner, to honor excellence in local, regional, and cable TV commercials. Non-broadcast video and TV program categories were soon added. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies. Judges evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work — entries do not compete against each other. Judges score entries on a performance scale and entries are recognized and awarded as Silver or Bronze Winners based on the combined scoring of the judges who evaluate each entry. The judging panel consists of highly qualified production professional that have at least one silver Telly Award to their names. Visit the Telly Awards Website at www.tellyawards.com.
