DMW DIRECT FUNDRAISING TAKES HOME NEW ENGLAND DIRECT MARKETING ASSOCIATION (NEDMA) CREATIVE EXCELLENCE AWARD

PLYMOUTH, Mass. – June 24, 2010 – DMW Direct Fundraising (http://www.dmwfundraising.com) and client KLRU-TV, Austin PBS were together presented with a Bronze 2010 New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) Award for Creative Excellence at the 29th annual ceremony held on June 15, 2010.

This award was given for DMW Direct Fundraising’s campaign called “Action Countdown” entered into the Fundraising Non-profit category.

“We feel privileged to accept this award and to have our client there with us to share in this honor. The award is a true testament to the results a team can deliver when working together towards overcoming a specific business challenge,” said Tom Hurley, President of DMW Direct Fundraising.

Due to the downturn in the economy, KLRU-TV experienced a heavy blow to its membership program. The objective of the campaign was to stem the losses and generate additional gift contributions. Working with a budget of less than $25,000, the fundraising group at DMW Direct created a package that reached a target audience of 10,000 current members and a follow-up mailing to the top 8,000 members. The campaign’s message was simple: KLRU must raise $100,000 by the end of the fiscal year to stay on track.

The effort was a huge success. The campaign generated gross revenue of $63,790, with an average gift of $62.11. As a result, KLRU gained 1,000 additional net members, 40 percent more appeal revenue, 39 percent more lapsed revenue, and 24 percent more acquisition revenue compared to the previous year.
